Anyone who knows me well would know that I’m a bazaar freak! I love going to bazaars because they carry lots of items you can’t really always find in a mall and usually the price of their items are more affordable. I can’t quite remember exactly when I started going to bazaars but I remember that the first bazaar I went to was the Karl Edwards Bazaar at NBC tent. I used to think that bazaars were mostly for old people looking for unique but affordable gifts to give their friends on Christmas. I was about 16 or 17 at the time and never really understood what made my Mom keep going back to bazaars looking for this and that store that sells linen sprays or bag organizers. Now I know why.
I grew to appreciate bazaars when I started finding stalls that would sell things that I wanted to buy. Whenever I attended bazaars, stall owners I would buy from would tell me what their next bazaar schedule will be and where to find them next. I grew to appreciate bazaars even more when I started visiting Rockwell bazaars since it was very different from the other bazaars like Karl Edwards and St. James Bazaar. While the bazaar venue was smaller, it looked like a high-end bazaar because you could see merchant booths that almost looked like a pop-up shop (dressing rooms included) and they sold a lot of items that would appeal to mostly younger people and accept all major credit cards!
Ever since I started going to the Rockwell Urban Bazaar, I found myself attending one bazaar after another. So I just wanted to share the excitement with you by showing my latest bazaarista finds when I dropped by Rockwell’s Moonlit Bazaar yesterday.

Bazaarista Finds

Clockwise from Left: 1. NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette The Runway Collection from Pretty Goddess (www.facebook.com/prettygoddess) 2. Trunk Show animal print detachable collar! 3. Jean and Rosz long pendant (www.jeanandrosz.com)
1. NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette The Runway Collection
I love how this eyeshadow palette has all my favorite shades to use for everyday makeup. It has the proper shades for an eyeshadow base and contour shades to create the illusion of deep-set eyes. Perfect for every Chinita like me! Can’t wait to use it! :D
2. Trunk Show animal print detachable collar!

I’ve seen a lot of these detachable collars on quite a number of fashion blogs, on lookbook.nu, and on chictopia. And have seen Miu Miu’s fabulous Spring 2010 collars which made me consider making one for myself D.I.Y. style but never had the time to make them.
Miu Miu Spring 2010 Detachable Collars

It’s a good thing somebody finally thought of making detachable collars here. Although it’s not as girly as Miu Miu’s collars, Trunk Show has a plain white detachable collar, denim w/white polka dots, and the animal print one I just bought.
Sorry Miu Miu, while I’m very much in-love with your cat-print detachable collars they’re too expensive! :(
The detachable collar is a new accessory for me. It’s something different compared to chokers, bib necklaces, and long pendants. I’m looking forward to see how many looks I can pull-off wearing them. I particularly like the print on the one I bought…so loving animal print right now.
3. Jean and Rosz Long Pendant

This is the first long pendant I bought after a while and the second item I’ve bought from Jean and Rosz. All their accessories are really versatile and it never gets old. I could already imagine what I will be wearing this with. :)
Oh and I also came across these cute animal print loafers from Satchi Store, one of the bazaar stalls at the Rockwell Tent extension. Unfortunately, they didn’t have my size for the other version of this loafer called Nala 2 which looked better on my feet.
Satchi Store Nala Loafers

They’ve got quite a number of cute flats and you can visit their Facebook page if you’re interested in buying their flats http://www.facebook.com/satchistore
For those who haven’t dropped by the Moonlit Bazaar yet, you still have until midnight today to do your shopping! So what are you waiting for?
Go and enjoy your shopping it’s Sunday! :D

Sorry if I’ve been MIA for quite a while. I’ve been busy with so many things lately.
My day job (plus extra-curricular work activities), my online business www.niche.ph, and Fashion Design classes at Fashion Institute of the Philippines have taken over my life as we know it. It only occurred to me that I haven’t written much when I was browsing through the tumblr posts of #itscamilleco, #triciawillgoplaces, and #thetravelingheels. These girls are on a roll!
So here I am, attempting to start writing and sharing new things with you again and this time…with a bowl of strawberries and cream by my side. I love my mom she’s got impeccable timing! Good food fuels good writing! So here we go!!!
Have you ever seen something you can’t stop staring at and eventually ended up buying that item even if it’s quite unusual for you to buy that item in the first place?
I’m used to buying clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories but I never expected to buy a “kayoot” (funny way of saying cute from my sister Lauren) office desk accessory.
Here’s what it looks like:

I apologize for the grainy quality of this photo…I only had my phone camera at the time. I bought this kayoot pink Desk Bunny from Quirks, a specialty store on the 3rd level of Power Plant Mall just this week. The bunny ears are actually a pink pair of scissors underneath its cute exterior and the carrot is a detachable magnet that also holds paperclips in place. And yes, the carrot magnet can be removed from the bunny and placed anywhere there’s metal. It is only attached to the bunny through small round metal plate on the bunny’s tummy. This desk bunny also comes with a packet of green paperclips just in case your carrot magnet starts running out of leaves.
Isn’t it just awesome?
For people who don’t fancy pink, there’s also white version of this desk bunny available at Quirks. I still think it looks cuter in pink though.
Quirks also has a Facebook page by the way! But I suggest that you visit their shop instead because then you’d get to feed your curiosity just by looking at the different type of items they sell.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my short but kayoot post.
Happy weekend everyone!

I was surfing the internet the other day and stumbled upon net-a-porter’s new online magazine issue entitled:The BLOGGER SPECIAL. The theme of this week’s online magazine is all about bloggers and how they are now seen as the new power players by the fashion industry.
This issue features top 10 favorite bloggers chosen by a panel of fashion industry experts as well as photos of bloggers in their best outfits and key fashion pieces they would like to have in their closets this season. Hats-off to Bryanboy for being chosen as one of the top 10 favorite bloggers!
He makes me even more proud to be Pinoy! :)
I also found myself falling in-love with the style of blogger/model Hanneli Mustaparta. So effortlessly chic…<3 <3 <3
Anyway, I took a couple of screen-shots just so you can see what I have been looking at on http://www.net-a-porter.com/intl/home.nap I didn’t want to post the full content of the magazine so that you could enjoy reading this on net-a-porter.

I was so inspired to try new outfit combinations after reading this.
Sigh…for the love of fashion!

I had an awesome time at Bloggers United last Friday! :)
I just wish I could have gone to the event earlier since I heard that there were more cool stuff to buy if you went into the bazaar earlier that day.
As expected, most of Manila’s top bloggers were at Bloggers United all dressed-up and surprisingly very down-to-earth. I had the chance to meet and take photos with bloggers Tricia Gosingtian, Co-Exist designer/owner Camille Co, W.A.G.W. owner Kryz Uy, Kookie Buhain, and a good friend of mine…makeup guru Marj Sia.
My pictures with bloggers to follow…it’s still in littlebigchinadoll’s mobile phone.
Mental note: Always bring a digital camera when you know you’ll be attending an event like this.
Anyway, other bloggers I spotted at the bazaar were Dominique Tiu, Valerie Chua, Crissey Si, Patricia Prieto, Karl Leuterio, and Tin Iglesias.
The best part of the bazaar are the things I got to take home:

Dropped by the Gondo Girls booth! Psyched because I was able to try and buy Catwalk cosmetics palette by Marj Sia (http://thetravelingheels.tumblr.com/) and am now officially in-love with this eyeshadow & blush palette! Thank you for the additional freebies Marj! You may find out more about this palette by liking Catwalk Cosmetics Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/cwcosmetics

I couldn’t resist this cute skirt when I saw it for sale on the clothing rack of one blogger. I just had to get it for myself! Bought this for only P350.

I also got this grey cotton maxi skirt for only P250! I’ve always wanted to have a long basic neutral colored maxi skirt…I just never knew where to find one until last Friday.
Got to photo-booth with littlebigchinadoll for free!

Lastly, I got to take a photo beside Yoko Ono for a day thanks to littlebigchinadoll. You’ve got to admire the artist that drew Yoko Ono on the cover of STATUS Magazine’s May 2011 issue. It is truly a work of art!
Go grab a copy of STATUS Magazine’s May issue now if you don’t have a copy of it yet!
It has been one heck-of-a-bloggeriffic weekend for me!
Till our next chat!

Yesterday was proof that something good could happen after a long and tiring day at work. I was lucky enough to have been given four tickets to watch the advanced screening of “Water for Elephants” at Power Plant Mall by a very good friend of mine.
So I invited my parents and sister to watch the movie with me, not expecting anything great since I have not seen the trailer and well…because Robert Pattinson was the lead character in the movie. No offense meant to Robert Pattinson. It’s just that everytime I see him on screen I still remember him as vampire Edward Cullen no matter how hard I try to convince myself that he’s playing another character in another movie.
Anyway, the movie was surprisingly good!
The movie stars Robert Pattinson as Jacob Jankowski, a young Polish boy who studied veterinary medicine at a prestigious ivy league school, who had his life all planned out for himself. It just seemed like nothing could go wrong for Jacob.
However, through a sudden turn of events, Jacob later finds himself dropping-out of school, leaving home, and getting on a train full of what turned out to be a traveling circus. Acting opposite Pattinson was Reese Witherspoon as Marlena; the beautiful and talented star of the equestrian act who was married to the charismatic but disturbed ringmaster of the circus, August (Christopher Waltz).
I’d say Christopher Waltz did an excellent job of playing August (the villain) in this movie…he was very brutal.
As the story unfolds, these three characters continue to play their roles in the circus. August the ringmaster and “the boss”, Marlena the wife of August and the star of the circus, and Jacob the veterinarian. Until one day, Marlena’s star horse had to be put down because of an incurable disease. The travelling circus struggled to survive because without a star horse there could be no star act and the circus had to cancel several shows. Rumors even went around that since the circus was running out of money to pay its staff, August was throwing some of his staff off the train to make sure that he doesn’t need to pay them.
So the traveling circus continued to look for its star animal until they found Rosie the elephant. Jacob and Marlena spent a lot of time training Rosie to perform a new act for the circus upon the instruction of August and eventually discovered that Rosie could understand commands in polish. The circus now had a new act starring Marlena and Rosie and made lots of money along the way. August was happy again and the merriment carried out for as long as tickets were being sold.
A series of victory parties and the success of the new act has led Jacob and Marlena to realize that they were falling in-love with each other.
Of course a good movie would never be complete without a love triangle.
But how could they be together?
I suggest that you go watch this movie when it hits Power Plant Mall theaters to find out how it ends. I’d be revealing too much of the movie if I finished the story here. ;)

Looking back, I’ve never been seen as someone who is always eager to try out new things or one to go on crazy adventures. Don’t get me wrong, the “yearning” to try out new food, new clothes, and visit new places was there.
For some reason…there was just always something that hindered me from doing so.
Till one day I realized, my routine was getting boring.
So I started this blog in the hopes of pushing myself out there to try out new things and share it with people like me. Sometimes I get too busy and caught up with work that I forget about the value of discovering new restaurants, shopping places, spas, and other yuppie hangouts in Metro Manila and end up having no idea where to go on the weekends.
So let this blog be a commitment to the start of something new and exciting!
Here we go!
